Podcasts for education: some thoughts

Listening to Stefaan Lesage regarding poscasts for education It came to my mind that podcasts facilitate learning in an ubiquitous way, and are very useful in e-learning, but it does not mean a real changet for the traditional learning paradigm.
In this paradigm there is a unique sense of knowledge distribution: from the professor to the student. Podcast does not change by itself this paradigm.
The connectivist learning, on the other hand integratres podcats as one of the means for conecting knowledge, but not as a unique communication channel.
The presentation by Stefaan has been very informative and has raised an interesting debate on copyrights and on the need to educate and train school educators. But I missed a real debate on what the web 2.0 can afford to the new learning paradigm.
I’m happy I’m here today in El Masnou (Barcelona) in this Barcelona Podcamp 2009, so well organized and with so good speakers. Though I’ also hope I can translate some of the issues discussed in this PodCamjp to the CCK09 course I’m following too.

Here’s a video projected by Stefaan at the end of his presentation that may illustrate hownimportant is the moment we’re leaving now for changes in education. As he suggested we should shout “Yes, we can change education”!
